Introduction to Permaculture Design

Who should attend: Homeowners, farmers, gardeners, landscapers, architects, students and anyone curious to learn more about permaculture design.

This workshop will emphasize practical examples and experiential learning on a beautiful farm that is currently being developed as a permaculture site.

This course will provide attendees with an introduction to the fundamental aspects of permaculture design.

Topics covered in this hands-on weekend design workshop are:
  • Relative location
  • Each element performs multiple functions
  • Each function is supported by many elements
  • Energy efficient planning
  • Using biological resources
  • Energy cycling
  • Small-scale intensive systems
  • Natural plant succession and stacking
  • Polyculture and diversity of species
  • Increasing "edge" within a system
  • Observe and replicate natural patterns
Course Cost: $220 includes tuition, meals, camping and course materials.
